چکیده

ABSTRACT Copaiba oleoresin, extracted from the Copaifera reticulata tree, has been used as a remedy in popular medicine Brazilian Amazon for various purposes, including reducing drug abuse. Yet no studies evaluated effect of repeated administration copaiba oil on alcohol consumption animals. To evaluate this effect, we divided adult male Wistar rats into a) an group which animals had free access to choose between two bottles: one containing solution (20%) and another vehicle (0.2% saccharin); b) control with bottles solution. Rats were drink 24 h per day, 35 days. Daily weekly body weight gain food intake monitored. From day 22, half each received 600 mg kg-1 oleoresin other vehicle, subcutaneously, once three On 35, open-field test. The results showed that decreased voluntary preference days 2 6 after last administration. treatment also both groups without changing behaviors Therefore, was able reduce could be tested humans adjuvant treat use disorder.

Developmental toxicity of copaiba tree (Copaifera reticulata Ducke, Fabaceae) oleoresin in rat.

The oleoresin of the copaiba tree (Copaifera sp., Fabaceae) is traditionally used in Brazilian herbal medicine to treat a variety of illnesses and symptoms. This study, conducted according to the OECD Guideline 414, provides data on the developmental toxicity of oleoresin from C. reticulata (COPA-R) in rats. Pregnant Wistar rats (25 per dose group) were treated by gavage with COPA-R (0, 500, 10...

Inclusion Complexes of Copaiba (Copaifera multijuga Hayne) Oleoresin and Cyclodextrins: Physicochemical Characterization and Anti-Inflammatory Activity

Complexation with cyclodextrins (CDs) is a technique that has been extensively used to increase the aqueous solubility of oils and improve their stability. In addition, this technique has been used to convert oils into solid materials. This work aims to develop inclusion complexes of Copaifera multijuga oleoresin (CMO), which presents anti-inflammatory activity, with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and h...
